  • ​NAMIC PAC is now the largest property/casualty company trade association PAC in America. We have enjoyed record growth for nearly 5 years in a row and this election cycle we are closing in on an incredibly important milestone - raising and contributing more than $1 million.
  • NAMIC PAC currently ranks in the top percentile of the more than 2900 association PACs and is ranked 11th out of the 257 insurance industry PACs.
  • ​​In 2015, NAMIC PAC was able to utilize over $550,000 to support 206 candidates from 42 states at both the state and federal levels. The PAC hosted over 30 events for members of Congress, raising over $750,000.
  • NAMIC PAC knows it is easier to elect officials who share our business philosophy than it is to change the views of someone already in office who disagrees.

2015 LEGISLATIVE HIGHLIGHTS


  • Led successful advocacy efforts to see TRIA reauthorized without an increase to deductible or any other drastic changes.
  • Engaged in a sustained and comprehensive educational campaign on Capitol Hill to defend the state based insurance regulatory system and explain how international standard setting could harm U.S. companies and consumers.
  • Enlisted Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Wis., to introduce of the International Insurance Standards Transparency and Policyholder Protection Act which would to require that U.S. federal agencies engaged in international discussions regarding regulatory standards for insurance consult with Congress, state regulators, insurers, and consumers, prior to and during negotiations.
  • Enlisted Sens. Dean Heller, R-Nev., and Jon Tester, D-Mont., to introduce the International Insurance Capital Standards Accountability Act – corresponding piece of legislation to the International Insurance Standards Transparency and Policyholder Protection Act in the House.
  • Continued to fight against the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s attempt to impose a disparate impact standard of discrimination on homeowners insurance that runs counter to the fundamental process of underwriting.
  • ​​Established NAMIC as the industry leader on drones, publishing a white paper on insurance issues regarding drone use and a compendium of current state drone laws and regulations, testifying before a House Judiciary subcommittee, leading an educational campaign on Capitol Hill, and speaking on panels at conferences around the nation.
  • ​Secured passage of the Cyber security Information Sharing Act, which creates a safe harbor for companies to share information on attempted hacks and data breaches to better protect our digital infrastructure and economy.
